How are we different?

Avalon Skin is a dedicated cosmetic injectables clinic, located at Avalon Beach.

We understand that you might feel a little anxious about having cosmetic injections. Our friendly, professional staff and calm setting will help put your mind at ease. Our doctor will be present for your first consultation and treatment – in person and not via a video link.

We will discuss and assess your needs, give comprehensive advice about treatment options, plan your treatment with you, and answer any questions. If you choose to go ahead, you can have your treatment on the day of your consultation, or make an appointment for another time.

Our staff have over 60+ years combined medical and nursing experience. After care is very important – if you have any questions or concerns following your treatment, you can call one of our clinicians directly, at any time.

A follow up appointment to review your results, two weeks after your procedure is an important part of our service. We are committed to excellence, using the best products available, as well as ensuring quality, safety and privacy.

Does it hurt?

We are committed to making your experience with us as comfortable as possible. Everyone’s tolerance to pain is different. We take great care to limit the discomfort of injections using ice packs, local anaesthetic cream applied to the skin, or local anaesthetic injections. Our dermal fillers have local anaesthetic added, so every measure is taken for your comfort.

How long does it last?

We tailor your treatment and the type of filler used to your individual needs. Different products are used for different areas of the face. The volume enhancing effect lasts from six to eighteen months. In some situations, longer lasting results using different types of filler can be achieved.

Will I bruise?

Dermal fillers can help restore volume and reduce the appearance of facial lines, but temporary bruising and swelling may occur. We advise that you avoid taking fish oil or garlic supplements, as well as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen) for a week before your treatment. Please let us know if you are taking any blood thinning medications such as aspirin. Plan your treatments at least 2 weeks before a special social event, to allow any minor bruising or swelling to resolve. You may wish to take remedies such as Arnica 3-5 days prior to treatment and continue for 3-5 days afterwards.
