Do you have fine lines or uneven skin texture?
If you have fine lines, uneven skin texture, UV damage, enlarged pores or suffer from Rosacia then Dermal Needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) as it is also known, this the treatment you have been looking for!
Dermal Needling is performed by way of a single use, sterile medical grade device, which delivers microscopic punctures.
This method creates a micro trauma with each puncture stimulating the body’s natural wound healing response.
This in turn stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin to the area treated, making the skin feel smoother and tighter.
Contraindications to treatment will be discussed in detail with your practitioner.
I am extremely pleased with the natural looking results and would have no hesitation in recommending Avalon Skin to others. - Tamzin Nugent
Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
Dermal Needling treatments are delivered with varying needle depths, depending on the area or condition being treated. The treatment creates a vibration so, at shallower depths, the vibrations sends many signals to the brain which it cannot process thereby reducing the sensation of pain. Topical anaesthesia is usually not required, however Avalon Skin provides topical anaesthesia which is applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure.
How do I prepare for my treatment?
It is advisable to use a recommended cosmeceutical protocol for at least 5 days before and continue for 5 days after your treatment to maximise results. These products are used during and immediately after your treatment as well and can be purchased from Avalon Skin. If you bruise easily it may be beneficial for you to take an Arnica, or similar, for a few days before and after your treatment.
When will I see results?
Dermal Needling results are gradual as new collagen production takes time. The initial flushed appearance is a necessary step in the healing process. Most clients report an improvement in skin tone and texture over a period of 6 – 8 weeks with an increase in improvement after consecutive treatments. It is therefore important to stick with your skin care protocols at home and your treatment plan.
How many treatments will I need?
On average 4 – 6 treatments at 6 – 8 week intervals. This gives the area time to heal and not disrupt the collagen production process. This depends on the clients individual needs. Each treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes with an additional 30 minutes if local anaesthesia is required.
